Bridging the Gap - Teacher
About
Wilson
Wilson

Wilson is a summer teacher for the Bridging the Gap program. He was born in England, however since his father was an engineer on cargo ships, his family travelled worldwide while he was growing up. Eventually, Wilson immigrated to Canada where he has been involved in the Bangladesh community as part of his heritage. Wilson studied biology at McMaster University and completed his Master’s degree in health research at the University of Guelph.

After graduation, Wilson’s endless curiosity to learn attracted him to a career in medicine in the US where he studied at UMHS however his passion for teaching has brought him back to Canada to complete his teaching degree in STEM education (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Wilson is a full-time high school teacher at Philopateer Christian College (PCC), where he teaches STEM including kinesiology, science, math, and food and nutrition. Wilson’s dedication to teach has always extended beyond the 4 walls of the classroom - his passion to help foster the curiosity to learn in everything we do and Liberty for Youth’s mission to help build positive character has made him excited to be part of a team dedicated to making a difference one step at a time.

Besides teaching, Wilson loves to share the joys of music by playing the guitar and piano and exploring the great outdoors, especially the beautiful collection of waterfalls in Hamilton!
